My Tortuga Outbreaker Backpack, is mostly used as a "go bag" or day backpack. I take it with me in case of emergency for a change of clothes, or a quick trip. I really like the lap belt as it takes the weight off of my shoulders. I have lower back and shoulder issues where I carry most of my pain. So the Outbreaker has been wonderful in making sure I don't add more weight to those areas of my body than I need to.

Love this pack. I've taken it on a few short trips so far and it has been nothing short of incredible. Pocket space is more than sufficient. Plenty of room. Organized well. About to take this thing down to South America for a year - I have no doubt my affection will grow even greater for this bag.

Just returned from 2 week tour of Norway and Iceland, 5 different hotels, 4 flights. Outbreaker, with packing cubes for internal organization, made it so easy to effortlessly stay on the move. We flew Icelandair, and our 45L bags (not overpacked) fit the overhead bins well. This was our first carryon only trip of this length, and I loved the ease of check in and airport departure it gave us. With the hip belts to carry most of the weight, we did not suffer any back or shoulder strain.

Used it to travel for 5 days to Machu Picchu- it fits a lot!! Makes it great to grab and go. Highly recommend.

The shoulder straps and weight distribution are excellent, it feels lighter than it is. Even factoring in that the pack weighs 5lbs empty.

Build quality is also great.

Some of the organization could be a little better, but maybe it just doesn't fit well with my style of packing and travel.

Overall very satisfied.
