Daypack Pro

I seriously love this pack, and it has instantly become my go-to as a personal item on the plane (under seat) that can also be used as a super-light daypack at my destination. It's incredibly lightweight, bigger than you expect, and made of what feels like really sturdy materials, while still being "smash-able" -- you can really scrunch it up when needed, and yet when full, it will mostly stand on its own. Somehow this bag has flown under the radar, and I think if more people got exposed to it, they would go nuts over it. It's that good!

HOWEVER, the lack of a luggage pass-thru seems like an astoundingly huge 'miss' to me -- it's literally the ONLY negative I can say about this bag so far. Put a luggage pass-thru on this -- an effective one -- and I will literally buy another one to get that feature.

In summary, I can't express how much I love this bag -- it has literally replaced an entire stable of bags I've been using as personal items for international flights -- but it is a real drag trying to mount it to my rolling carry-on (I use an external strap with a buckle to get it to stay attached to the telescoping handle of my roller). I know it would add weight, but please consider adding some method of luggage pass-thru. Other than that, I so far can't recommend this highly enough -- just get one.

The Tortuga Daypack Pro has become my favorite backpack for both travel and everyday use. Great balance of high-quality materials but is still incredibly light and compact, making it perfect for any trip. On my recent weekend getaway to Los Angeles, it easily fit inside my carry-on and then served as my daypack for exploring the city.

At home, I use it in my daily routines like going to work at a coffee shop, it fits my laptop, notebook, and lunch without a problem.

For being so light I'm surprised at the quality and comfort of the straps and back panel.,

This is the perfect size for a one bag trip for two or three days. And if you are a minimalist you could use it as your only bag for an extended trip. This bag is only 21 liters, but it is deceivingly large. It doesn't have much organization (which is a good thing from my perspective) which allows for more usable space for packing cubes and toiletry kit. It easily fits the larger peak design packing cube with plenty of extra room for more gear or smaller packing cubes. It weighs only 1 pound and appears very well built. It may not last a lifetime but at this price point and form factor if you get 3-5 years from this bag it has paid for itself several times over. Very happy with this purchase. Just buy...... You won't regret it. Very versatile bag that can be used as a day pack or for one bag travel. *****

I used this backpack on my trip to Austria. It was a great personal item. I needed to maximize my luggage allowance while remaining within the airline limits of what I could bring, so I packed my Tortuga Travel Backpack Lite as my carryon and the Day Pack Pro as a personal item. I liked the two backpack look since it made me feel like a “true” backpacker (lol), but it also gave me piece of mind knowing that Tortuga's bag sizes are accurate for airlines. Despite carrying two bags, I had no problems with immigration due to their size and the day pack pro made it easy for me to take my laptop and liquids in and out during the screening. After I arrived in Austria, the Daypack Pro proved to be really useful. It came with me everywhere. I took it to the gym, hiking, and even lake trips, and I intend to take it on my upcoming overnight train trip. I like how the backpack easily fits my laptop because of the designated storage, but it still has a large main compartment. Most importantly, I enjoy that the bag is lightweight. When I'm not using it, I put it in my Travel Backpack Lite, and the weight is not even noticeable.
