Purchased both the 35L and the 45L
I purchased the 35L and when it arrived, I decided to order the 45L also. The 35L didn't 'seem big' upon arrival -- too big for daily carry but it's a minimal travel bag at least for me. I have had the Outbreaker Laptop Backpack for a little over 2 years and have been completely satisfied with it for daily carry with a rather large work-issued Lenovo laptop and my fairly large lunch bag that I tote every day. The 35L and 45L are obviously purpose built for travel and they wreak of high quality design and materials. Personally, I think I prefer the 45L after 'practicing' with both. This may mean that I'm just an amateur one-bag traveler but I like the space and the ability to pack my must-takes and a few like-to-takes and still stay within one bag. I haven't traveled with them yet but will in the near future. Once adjusted for my frame, the straps seem near ideal. The back padding is quite firm and noticeable but I personally appreciate it. With either bag, I can easily pack a daypack such as my Outbreaker Daypack. I'll give my wife the choice of the 35L or the 45L and I'll use the other one. And I do guess I'll end up ordering the new 40L Travel Backpack since I'm a bag nerd and I'm curious to see how it compares. Then I'll probably offer one of these to my daughter since she's planning to travel overseas for school later this year. I'm definitely a Tortuga fan and have appreciated their service and their quick shipping.
