FAQ

How much can I pack in the Pro 40L?

Most travelers fit 7-10 days of clothes and gear in the Pro 40L.

If you do laundry once or rewear a few things, you're covered for a two-week trip. Keep doing laundry, and you can travel indefinitely.

Is the Pro 40L heavy?

The Pro 40L is heavier than some bags, including Tortuga's Lite 40L. However, the Pro's advanced suspension system transfers weight off your shoulders so that it carries lighter than other bags. You'll find that other bags can weigh less but feel heavier because of a simpler suspension system and a minimal hip belt.

Will the Pro 40L fit me?

Yes. The adjustable harness fits a range of torso lengths, and the hip belt extends from 23 to 68 inches. Use the videos and instructions in the Fit Guide to measure your torso and find the right setting before your trip.

If you don't love the fit, you can exchange or return your bag unused within 30 days for a full refund.

Is the Pro 40L a carry-on?

Yes. The Pro 40L measures 22 × 14 × 8 in (55 × 35 × 20 cm) and fits the overhead carry-on size limits for major US and international airlines, even Ryanair.

Rules vary by fare, route, aircraft, and weight, so always check with your airline before flying.

Is the Pro 40L comfortable?

Yes, the height-adjustable harness adjusts to your body, and the padded hip belt transfers up to 80% of the weight from your shoulders to your hips. Your legs carry more of the load, so your back and shoulders don't have to.
