Wow, wow, wow!!
I have been traveling in my original Tortuga backpack for almost 7 years and, while it is still in perfect condition after a TON of use, I decided I wanted to challenge myself to pack even lighter by getting the smaller 30 L bag. I purchased it and just packed it for its first use. I ADORE all the new features added to this bag and with the redesign it actually seems even more spacious than my original larger bag. With the adjustable fit capability it is much more comfortable for my five foot 4 inch frame to carry as well. I cannot say enough positive things about this bag.
5 years of traveling with Tortuga!
I've spent 5 years traveling with different iterations of the Tortuga travel backpack and I literally won't travel with anyone else. I travel for a living and have to be able to pack enough to live across multiple climates, and I have no problem fitting everything I need into my Tortuga. On top of that, it's comfortable and organizes well.
Great Backpack!!
I took this back pack on a six month backpacking trip through Europe. I was amazed with how much I could fit in it and how well I could customize it to fit me comfortably. I am so glad I fought this backpack!!

Awesome backpack!
I was skeptical about buying this bag because of its weight (4lb) compared to the Rick Steves bag (2.5lb) I've been using. Just got home from five (5) weeks traveling in the Netherlands and Turkey and this bag was able to carry everything I needed, including laundry detergent, clothesline, sink stopper, virtually everything I needed to be self-contained for 5 weeks. The waist strap made for easy walking through long airport concourses (Schiphol, Logan, Atlanta) with no "backpack stoop" from sore shoulders. It kept its compact shape and, in an overcrowded aircraft actually fit under the "seat in front of me.!" Not much leg room but my stuff stayed with me. There were enough pockets, pouches, and slots for all the little things, pen, notebook, sunglasses, etc. I don't travel with electronics (just my phone) so I haven't figured out a use for the fuzzy pockets, but that section of the bag held a fleece pullover and a heavy flannel shirt. Can't say enough good things about this backpack. I even made the Turkish Airlines 8kg carry-on, no personal items limit. I hear you are discontinuing this model. That's too bad. Good luck with your new bag but I'm sticking with this one!

Great backpack & Company
I have owned my Tortuga backpack for about 7 years and have used it often for traveling. It’s excellent! Has held up in great condition. Once, there was a small rip on one seem and I emailed the company about it. They mended it for me for free and returned the bag. It hasn’t ripped again. I really appreciate companies that stand by their products and fix any damages (free of charge). Given that we are over-using the earth’s resources, it’s necessary that products are made to last and this is a backpack that will last a lifetime. Highly recommend!
