Yes. Every Tortuga travel backpack is carry-on-compliant. The Pro 40L and Lite 40L are max-sized overhead-bin bags measuring 22 × 14 × 8 inches (55 × 35 × 20 cm). Smaller carry-on models leave more margin within airline limits, while the Daily Carry Pro and Slim are personal items designed to fit under the seat.

How long you can travel depends on your destination and packing style. You can pack 7-10 days of clothes in a 40L bag. Do laundry once or rewear a few things, and you’re covered for two weeks. Keep doing laundry, and you can travel indefinitely.

The body fabrics on the Pro and Superlite bags are waterproof. The coated zippers on the Pros are also water-resistant.

The Lite and Expandable use water-resistant CORDURA® nylon with a C0 durable water-repellent (DWR) finish.

Because the seams aren’t sealed, the finished bags are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof and shouldn’t be submerged.
